Ivy Classical Academy Celebrates School Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Public Classical Charter School Serves K-5 Students – Will Expand a Grade Each Year

Prattville, Ala. — On October 28, 2024, Ivy Classical Academy hosted its official ribbon cutting ceremony for the brand new public classical charter school. While the school officially opened its doors with full enrollment in August of 2024, families and community members took time to officially celebrate the new school with a ribbon cutting event this week.

The ribbon cutting included a number of local elected officials and included remarks from:

·       Desirae Jackson, Elmore County Commissioner

·       David Jones, Elmore County Public School Board Member

·       Clyde Chambliss, Alabama State Senator

·       Patrick Whalen, CEO of American Classical Education

·       Bradley Neave, Founder and Board Chairman of Ivy Classical Academy

·       Dr. David Withun, Head of School of Ivy Classical Academy

“Celebrating this milestone is an exciting moment in the life of our school. It is both the culmination of the work of many people to open this school and to make public classical education accessible to the children of the River Region as well as a beginning to our school’s story as we continue to add additional grades, celebrate more milestones and look forward to graduating our first senior class in 2032,” said Dr. David Withun, Head of School for Ivy Classical Academy.
